Review: Shelby's Snack Shack game from Learning Resources

We were recently sent this great game by Learning Resources, it is called Shelby's Snack Shack.  The first impressions of it were really good, the box is really well made and Shelby is a very cute Pug who makes the game instantly appealing.

This is a counting game for 2-4 players aged 4+.  It helps to develop skills such as number recognition, simple addition and subtraction and fine motor skills.

The object of the game is to collect the most bones in your bowl.  You pick the bones up using the Shelby squeezer, which is super cute.  There are a variety of ways you can collect bones, you can even steal other players' bones and Grace found this bit most amusing.  I liked that the game was very simple to explain to the children, it didn't have loads of complicated rules they found hard to understand.  The older ones really like it too, even Chloe who's 10 (I think that might have something to do with her Pug obsession though).

The contents of the box are 1 Shelby Squeezer, 40 bones, 4 bowls, 1 spinner and an instruction guide, the instructions are very easy to follow.  The box is the game board too, which is a great idea!

If you would like to win one of these great games for yourself (or your kids..obvs) you can enter here to win one of five, the competition ends the 9th July.

Disclosure:  We were sent this game for the purpose of this review but all opinions are our own.
