Review: Parcelgenie, an iPhone App.

Once in a while an app comes along that is an absolute revelation, and this week I found one of those apps.

Parcelgenie is the worlds first gift messaging app, you can actually buy real presents and send them to your friends, even if you don't know their address.  This is how it works:

What I love about it is that it becomes so simple to send a friend or family member a small present with the absolute minimum of fuss.  All the things available to purchase are small, low value items (the most expensive item is a silver love heart at £17.49 but they average at between £4 and £6 generally) but they are guaranteed to put a smile on anyone's face.  The gifts range from sweets to beauty bits to socks and even gifts for a new baby.  I've been on there a few times now and there have been a few changes each time so you can be sure there will always be something new to send to your someone special.  Fair enough, you probably wouldn't send your Mums birthday present via this app, I'm not sure how much my mum would appreciate Percy Pigs, but I will definitely use it to send my friends birthday presents from now on.

Just to test the app out I sent my OH the Mega Retro Sweet Box (£7.99, but shows the price as £5.99 as I got a 25% off discount code via their cool little Rewards feature).

All of the prices you see in the app include 1st Class P&P to anywhere within the UK.

He, and I, were absolutely delighted when it turned up the very next day well packaged and beautifully wrapped containing all our very favourite sweets from when we were kids.  I loved how it came in a thin box so that it could be posted through the letterbox even though we weren't in...no annoying red cards from the Postie!  It also came with a little card which can be personalised in the app, so you can change it to whatever you want to say.

I also sent a good friend a hot chocolate and cookie gift (£2.99) because she's been having a bit of a tough time recently.  After being initially wary about receiving a text from Parcelgenie asking for her address as she had never heard of them she also loved her gift.

So often you download apps that seem great at first but then you very rarely go on to use them, this I genuinely know I will use on a regular basis.  You are able to pay securely via debit card or Paypal, so even if you only have a few quid left over in your Paypal account you'll be able to send something to let your loved ones know they've not been forgotten.

Parcelgenie...my favourite new app.  Download it today, you wont regret it.  If you do use it please tell them Linz sent you by using code F9EFC6 during checkout.

Find more information on Parcelgenie via the app or on their website.

Disclosure: I was given two gifts to send free of charge for purposes of this review, however this review contains my honest opinion.
